Privacy Policy

A Privacy Policy is a legal document that explains how your website collects, uses, stores, and protects personal data from visitors and users. In many countries (including the EU, Brazil, India, and the US), it is legally required — especially if your site uses cookies, collects emails, or includes contact or payment forms.

You can use our built-in template or insert your own text in the Legal documents section of your site settings.

What to include in your Privacy Policy

Here’s a simple checklist you can use to create or review your Privacy Policy:

1. What personal data do you collect?

List the types of data you may collect:

  • Name, email address, phone number
  • IP address, browser or device info
  • Messages submitted via forms
  • Payment or billing information (if relevant)

2. How do you collect it?

Describe how data is gathered:

  • Through forms or newsletter subscriptions
  • Automatically via cookies and analytics tools

3. Why do you collect it?

Explain the reasons:

  • To provide and improve your website or service
  • To respond to inquiries or support requests
  • To send important updates or marketing (if user consents)
  • To comply with applicable laws

4. How do you store and share this data?

Tell users:

  • Where their data is stored (e.g., secure servers or third-party platforms)
  • If you share data with others (like analytics or payment tools)
  • That you do not sell personal data

5. Use of cookies and tracking tools

If your website uses cookies:

  • Explain what tools are used (e.g. Google Analytics)
  • What kind of data is collected and why
  • You can enable a cookie consent banner in your site settings under Legal documents

Make it clear how visitors can:

  • Request to access, correct, or delete their personal data
  • Withdraw their consent to data collection
  • Include a valid contact email address for privacy-related requests.

7. Policy updates

Let users know that your Privacy Policy can change over time and where to check for updates.

Open your site → go to Settings

Navigate to Legal documents

Find the field labeled Privacy Policy

Edit the default text or paste your own version

Your Privacy Policy will appear on a separate page with its own link, automatically added to the footer of your site.
